First, only get white balls. I've received lots of golf balls as gifts. The best ones are the ones that come with a receipt that I can return for what I really want. Even better, go to a golf shop and get a fifty dollar gift card so he can pick any balls that he wants. If you insist on purchasing balls and get them personalized, put very few words or it is too distracting. And try to trick him into telling you what ball he really wants.

White is the only "serious" color. Driving range balls are often yellow. As a gift, you can't go wrong with white.
One of the best balls is Titleist Pro V1, but they are expensive. Top-flight are cheap and not recommended for a gift. Titleist, Callaway, and Nike would each make a good gift even with the cheaper balls. As a golfer, I would want high end balls, but for saving money, a cheaper Nike would be just fine.

? these people need to get out more Tiger woods was drafted by the Asians in the racial draft so golf is now an asian and white sport and any black going anywhere near a golf course certainly pisses off the golf traditionalist there was another couple other PGA black golfers in the seventies, but it is still pretty darn white I mean just look at them roll there eyes as Tiger puts on yet another green jacket, it really annoys them Worst yet, the Masters does not allow women on the course at all

White, but before you go spend fifty dollars on a box of ProV1s and even more to get them personalized...find out if he is a decent golfer...buying ProV1s for him is just wasting your money if he's not skilled enough for them to make a difference. If he is more of an average player or worse than average it may actually help to get him a box of harder, lower spin balls like Pinnacle or Titleist DT So/Lo

you should get white ones -- they are more profesional, some people just use colored golf balls so they can find them easier and so they don't get mixed up w/ someone elses, but if you personalize his i guess he won't have that problem. white would be the best

Get white ones. Colored balls are for mini-golf.
