My dad has 2 dependents and earn $1050 /month (take home).

He could hardly save. How much could be his tax return after filing?

Status: permanent resident, NY.

Is there any website which discuss this subject broadly?
Thanks.

The IRS website has tons of info. Here is a link to their 1040ES form which you would be able to use to estimate your dad's taxes. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040es.pdf.
Be sure and chek out the Earnedcome Tax Credit stuff here http://www.irs.gov/publications/p596/index.html and the Child Tax Credit here http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p17.pdf

there are a number of things that influence your tax return, like how much he makes a year, how much tax do the fed and state take out of his paycheck each month, how many dependents does he claim during the year? does he file a long form or short form? if you always get a refund every year it means you've paid too much tax during the year and need to adjust your withholding on his paychecks.
