some dogs do come in to season at that young of an age. most vets will tell you though that it is best to wait to breed them until after there first heat cycle. i wait to breed my dogs until they are 2 years of age. at that time they are fully mature and have grown as big as they are going to get. by waiting this long the growing puppies will not bring down the mother dog by making her lose the calcium in her body. this is called eclampsia. it is very BAD. your dog will go into seizures and it could possibly kill her. if you notice her staying with the puppies all the time and not leaving. go to your local pet supply store and get petrocal and give her this several times a day and seperate her from the puppies some maybe 30 minutes every 2 to 4 hours and make sure you keep puupy food for the mother this is the best you could give her because it is high in calcium and other important nutrients. she needs to eat this the entire time she is pregnant and nursing.

She may not be a good mother as she is so young. You should watch her very carefully when she whelps.
It is a little late to worry about something happening to her now, isn't it? Why didn't you get her fixed? Why did you let her be around an intact male?
Thanks for being irresponsible and adding to the already millions of unwanted dogs already. The reason I get so aggravated at people like you is because I spend a great deal of my spare time trying to find homes for unwanted pets. I belong to the HSUS, I volunteer for an animal rescue, and I foster dogs that would have put down all the while trying to find a good "forever" home for them. I see things that you can't imagine.
PLEASE GET YOUR DOG FIXED AFTER SHE HAS THESE PUPPIES!!!!!!!!
Thank you.

Hi although I have no idea how she got to be with a dog & mated at this age & personally I would disagree strongly of letting her get pregnant at this age...
However if a female gets caught at this age she usually will deliver puppies without a problem but having said that your female will not have stopped growing herself when she caught on...This does hinder her own growth as now she needs to use what she should be using to develope her puppies.
Greater care should be taken onher next heat or better still maybe you would consider her getting fixed after she is done feeding her puppies..
Regards Jake

You should have her under the supervision of a vet during her pregnancy and birth since she is so young. Also, there is the chance that she may kill or abandon the puppies after she has them. If it is an unwanted pregnancy, like chetco said, you can have her spayed if she is under 4 weeks along. It's you decision. But if you decide to let her go through with the pregnancy, you should have her spayed after the pups are born.

Hiya Thomass
Take her to the vets, they can tell you more than we can, they can examine her to see if she can have the pups or not, if a large dog got to her, she might not be able to cope, also she very well might be far too young to be having a litter at such a young age
Me personally would have the pups aborted,
Let her grow up, better still get her neutered... ASAP

Why was she out on he own ? |Are you sure you are capable of looking after your dog ?
Take her to the vet and find out if she is less than 4 weeks pregnant an let her be sterilised .
She is too young to have puppies and you are not going to be able to cope either !

Why was she out unwatched and unprotected for long enough to get pregnant in the first place? You can't just turn a puppy loose and expect her to fend for herself. And don't say you don't do that, because you obviously did or she would not be pregnant.

Yes, she will probably give birth to little baby dogs. Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news.
