Long story short, she drops by without calling first, she calls at very late hours of the night, & if we don't get the phone when she calls, anytime of the day, she calls at least 2 more times in a row! Leave a VM! (and I've asked her nicely many times to please not do this!) To me it is just inconsiderate & rude. We've had many serious family situations in the past few years & many "bad news" late night phone calls. So the instant the phone rings this late I have terrible anxiety & can't go back to sleep & I am pregnant now & really need my sleep more than ever!!
I love her to death & we are very close in many regards but I just can't seem to get her to respect certain issues. We are spending almost all our free time with her lately & it seems like she just can't respect our alone time or our house rules, so to speak. It is driving me insane & making me angry with him & her. My parents would never be so rude & understand the meaning of the word boundary!! What should I do?

In response to one answer I have to say the problem is it is HIS mother & that is why it is a problem if it were anyone other than his Mom I would have no problem telling them to stop doing this. And I've love to shut my phone off but I can't because I have other family members who respect my boundaries & might truly have an imergency. Thanks for your answers!!

IT'S HIS MOM AND YOU ARE PLAYIN WITH FIRE IF YOU THINK YOU CAN PUT BOUNDARIES ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HER!! AND BESIDES SHE IS NOT GOING TO LIVE FOR EVER STOP BEING A SELFISH BABY!!

NOTHING..........IT'S YOUR HUSBANDS PLACE TO PUT HER STRAIGHT!! TALK TO HIM AND EXPLAIN EVERYTHING IF HE DOES NOTHING TELL HIM YOU WILL AND HE PROBABLY WON'T LIKE THE OUT COME. YOUR NOT GOING TO BE AS NICE AS HE MIGHT BE TO MOTHER!! AFTER ALL YOU ARE PREGNANT AND WHEN THOSE HORMONES TAKE OVER ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN, INCLUDING HIM SPENDING SEVERAL NIGHTS ON THE COUCH!!
