Either one. Two factors would influence me....Kitchenaid is made by Whirlpool so service technicians would be readily available, but Viking is ...or has been...a specialized brand with limited technicians. If you live in a large city, that point is mute.

Second, Vikings have traditionally been quite a bit higher in price. More of a status symbol...."see I can afford the more expensive brand." I'm not into that. I want the features I will use.......too often I've paid more for features I never use. Give me a more reliable applicance without excessive bells and whistles.......and with features I truly need.

Viking - better quality and if you were to look in most industrial/professional kitchens you would find more viking than Kitchenaide. although if you are concerned with cost..go with kitchenaide.

Kitchenaid. I have found them to be reliable, built for long-term useage (using mom's Kitchenaid stuff from years ago), and ease of use.
