I find that if they are going to be flat they will be flat no matter what you put them on but, I cut up paper grocery bags so I can lay them flat out and cool them on them. The paper absorbs the grease and it is a good way to use the paper bags when I don't have any more of the waxed freezer paper that I like to use for cookies.

DO NOT USE FOIL. It conducts heat, it will absorb heat from the cookies!!! I really recommend you get a wire rack. I used to use wax paper exclusively, I was just to cheap to buy the rack. But I finally did and it is wonderful! But for now, transfer them to a cloth or even put directly on your counter if it is clean.

I don't have a rack either I just use a plate as well. I haven't had any problems with them becoming flat. You can also lay out a peice of foil on the counter and do it that way.

I love to bake but I hate to wait. LOL!!!!!

Try leaving them on the cookie sheet to cool, or even some tin foil.

Place them on a room-temperature cookie sheet, or line the counter with aluminum foil and put them on that.

I always leave mine on the cookie sheet to cool and they do just fine.

Do you have any foil? That will work. Are you using both oven racks? Do you have a grill, use the rack. Think baby, think.

I cool mine on a (clean) bath towel. I spread it out a counter top and let them cool...the steam stays in them from the bottom and they stay puffy....it works!
