That is basically 'rubbing alcohol' or similar. Great to swish, not to swallow. During the bootleg era, people would sometimes drink this and caused themself severe vision and other problems.

RE:
Is it possible to get drunk off of mouthwash?
I was just wondering this... I saw this on the back of my mouthwash bottle and it says 12.8% Alcohol... Can you get drunk from it or will the chemicals cause more harm to you?

In a certain small town I used to live in, all mouthwash, hairsprays and real vanilla extract were kept behind the counters to prevent homeless people from using them to get drunk or high.
Don't know what the chemical effects were, but I don't think at that point of desperation they really cared.

From what I understand in the advance stages of extreme alcoholism if you use like bread or something it soaks the alcohol out of it but more than likely even though there is a high alcohol content the other chemicals in the mouthwash would make you so sick that it just wouldn't be worth it.

It is possible. Just ask Kitty Dukakis.
However, it is not advisable to drink mouthwash or vanilla extract. The inert ingredients are often harmful.

yes, but it's kinda lame to say to someone that you got drunk on mouthwash lol. it would also probably be disgusting though.

IF you can get enough into your system....but most likely you will become horribly sick before you can drink enough to get drunk.
Certainly not worth it. ONLY ADVANCED-STAGE alcoholics drink things like mouthwash to get drunk.

Definitely!! Mouthwash has more alcohol per volume than beer and other mixed drinks.
It is cheaper to buy beer, but in times of desperation, you can drink mouthwash, cough medicine and even deodorant for the alcohol.

Even if the chemicals caused some harm, it'd just get you more drunk. Win-Win situation buddy.
