The problem with all of those programs is that they're peer to peer, which means you don't know whose supplying it. ANY of the mentioned programs are really a crapshoot as to whether or not you're going to get infected with something (it's kind of like having unprotected sex with somebody you just met). Seriously dude, download iTunes and pay the $0.99. It's safe and legal.

The best way to download music is to use a bittorrent client. Azureus is one of the most popular clients right now. It can be downloaded at http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
Then all you need to do is search for what you want (artist/album/movie) at a popular bittorrent site (listed below). I like btjunkie.org, but you can use any. Then when you find what you want, you download the small torrent file. Double-click the torrent file and it will open in your bittorrent client and begin downloading.
It's better than limewire, however, ALWAYS scan for viruses before opening a file. AVG anti-virus is free, so theres no reason not to. http://www.grisoft.com/

Downloading music for free on the sites you mentioned is illegal and considered stealing. Most of the items on these sites and the bittorents are usually not what you expect them to be. If you need the music, then go to a legal site and pay the 99 cents or less then you'd be sure to get what you want.

well buddy P2P is old and hazardous. Go for torrents it rocks man. you can get whole damn DVD's. get utorrent from softpedia.com & search for torrnts on net like torrentz.com or simply google 'em.
