does anyone know where i can dowload windows xp pro edition for my windows me while avoiding shipping charges because microsoft asked me for a credit card number even though there are no shipping and handling charges for downloads please help me out

No legal site is going to put Windows XP on their site for you to download. the problem is you not only need the software, but the licensing information that comes with it on a piece of paper. Without that license code, you are stealing the software. so you need to have it shipped to you, or you need to go into a store and pick it up there.
