I have always thought that it is. Just as Christianity is a religion that covers differing takes on the same theme, like Catholics, Church of England, Methodists etc I think that Paganism covers the likes of Wikka, druids etc I'l be having a look at the other answers because I'm sure there are lots of Pagans who'l know the right answer!

Probably not. If it is, it's anything but a "typical" religion. Paganism was originally the worshipping of nature, much like the American Indians, (native americans, redskins, whatever you want to call them, the tribes found in the U.S. before the white devil took over). Some people now want to claim that paganism is devil-worship, and that's just not true, at least not in the old sense of the word.
(And if anyone got offended by my use of the words redskin or indian...well, dang.

Paganism is a blanket term to define any religion that is not of Christian beliefs. Therefore the answer is no, it is not a religion unto itself but a term used to describe many world religions.

I don't think so.

"Paganism" was a way of describing religion that was not Christanity and has now come to describe religion that is not Christianity, Islam or Judaism.

So "paganism" could include hedonism, scientology, hinduism, bhudism etc which is clearly not one specific set of religious beliefs.
