If your soul mates than you don't need a piece of paper proving that. My aunt & uncle have been together for 17 years and have 2 children, they dont plan on getting married. She has legally changed her last name. But they say that it is cheaper to be together than be married. Besides worse case scenerio, your not soul mates. Divorce isn't cheap.
