In the bible God created "man" in "his image". Thus Adam was created with a penis like God. There wasn't even any idea of creating a female until Adam said he was lonely and wanted a mate. Then God figured out somewhere for Adam to stick his penis. So why does God have a penis then? Who is he boinking?

As a woman friend said to me years ago, "Of course God is a man. You don't have to see his 'dangler' to know that. You can tell by his constant need for praise."

While it sounds like you're mostly just trying to annoy Christians who read your question, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt, and respond as though it was actually a mature question from someone actually seeking information, and not adolescent snarkiness...

In the Bible, when it says that "God created man in his own image", the word 'man' is generic-- it means 'human beings'. The word was used that way in English up until the '80s or so-- you still see "Men Working" signs oon the highway, although the workers are of both sexes.

In any case, if you were to read the rest of the sentence (we're in Genesis, Chapter 1, verse 27), you'd see that it says "God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them."

God is neither limited to being male nor to being female-- he isn't both, but transcends both.

The second description of Creation is in the second chapter of Genesis-- that's where Adam and Eve come in. Adam's loneliness, and Eve's creation as his "helpmeet", reflect the description in Genesis 1-- just as God created man, male and female, in his own image in Genesis 1, so it is in Genesis 2 that Adam was not complete without Eve. It had nothing to do with sex-- it had to do with our being, male and female together, the best reflection of God's image. [It was only after they were cast out of Eden that procreation came into the picture.]

I think it's funny how people have tried to make the Bible politically correct. They deny its blatant sexism with some wild interpretation. It's pretty amusing.

"man" = humankind

"In His image" = the abiltiy spiritually to be like God; not physical, spiritually in the image of God
