Should I NOT wash it for a couple days?? Or do wash it??? Trim it?? By the way - if it matters, I'm going a tad darker brown than I am.

Do not wash it for at least 24 hours before you color. trim the split ends off, because damaged hair grabs the color so it mat look darker in some areas than others. be sure to follow directions exactly, and use permanant color. my hairdresser says, if i am going to color at home, to use garnier nutrisse, because it is gentler on the hair. Then i wait at least 24 hours after coloring to wash.

Susposed to make sure that its clean and dry before coloring it. Also make sure you have enough dye to really cover all your hair good. Use the conditioner that comes with the dye.But don't wash your hair for like 24-48 hours after coloring it. The conditioner will help alot to keep your hair looking good til you shampoo it !

i think a few days before you color condition it well with a really good conditioner. and do not wash your hair 24 hrs before you color it you do not need to trim before you color. thats it.

don't wash it for about 24-48 hours before hand, to help the color hold. i like to cut my hair after i dye it, but i don't really think that matters.

I would sya dont wash it for at least 2 days that way your hair isnt too dirty but at the same time some of the chemicals from tha shampoo have gone away.if you are doing it yourself than make sure to really rub it in. VERY IMPORTANT!

me sis was a good hairist,12hrs b4-wash with dishsoap,blow dry then after really drying ,go at it with the dye ,rinse with conditioner -then cut trim.

cutting it would be good...i know that washing it right after fades the color...so i dont know how washing it before would affect it.
