Weak Citizenship Verification For Medicaid Applicants
One of the costs of large scale immigration (both legal and illegal) is the subsidies for medical care and other social services. Employers get cheap labor and the rest of us pick up the bill. In theory applicants for Medicaid are supposed to be American citizens. How well is this requirement enforced? Not well at all in turns out. A report from the Office of Inspector General Daniel R. Levinson of the Department of Health & Human Services has found that most states make little effort to prove citizenship of Medicaid benefits applicants.

Your source was over a year ago you should've been updated before placing a comment. Anyways....E.P. is right, Medicaid recently sent out notices that in order to qualify for state help you need to prove citizenship.

Not in polls and surveys. Yahoo no longer gives out a Top Contributor badge in that section. Otherwise it is easy if you answer well or if you only answer friends or questions that have no other answers. Simply answer a bunch of questions with a high number of Best Answers and you are likely to get a badge. I have none on this account and I prefer it that way. The badge is like a bullseye on your account and it does not show up come voting time so if the asker does not care about it then it is worthless to you. I simply answer as best I can and that makes me happy now.

I was in court the other day and saw one that was getting a court appointed attorney for breaking a law (spousal abuse). And, yes, he was illegal. How do I know? Because he told them he had neither a social security number nor a driver's license...All Americans have at least a social security number. He couldn't even show proof of income. He was telling them he got paid cash. The lady told him to have his employer write a letter verifying his salary. Can you believe that cr*p?

supposedly not anymore. If they don't provide a proof of citizenship, then they wont be provided medicaid food stamps or any other form of assistance. So, I would suggest them to become legal citizens in order for them to receive the assistance they need.
