I have this friend that is 14 and is dating this 18 year old boy that will be 19 in February, and she'll turn 15 in March. And I was just wondering what other people thought about this. Also, is it against any laws for her to be dating him???

In other countries around the world, people date without all this "being illegal" stuff. Yeah.. if they have sex and she or her parents file charges, he will probably go to jail/ have a record as a sex offender. Not really fair if the consent was mutual and if she was in her right mind and made a decision but it has to do with this belief that people under the age of 18 are idiots that can't really make a decision without sway from the evil adults around them. Now... unless he is forcing your friend, or you really believe he has some sway over her because he is so much older, smarter, experienced than her, then it's probably not ok. However, if she's ok with it, then why should everybody freak out about it?

If you touch her, you go to jail. She is too immature to be dating an 18 year old anyway. Find someone closer to your age. This girl's parents would probably have you arrested. I know I would, if some 18 year old came near my 14 year old girl. Just because the body looks mature, does not mean the girl is mature. She is very naive, because she does not have the experience in life that you have.

Legally they can't have sex, but there are no laws against their dating. The parents of the girl however need to be mindful of the predicament that they are endangering the girl with by allowing this. Personally (and I am old school on this), this girl would not be dating out of her age group. This is just a recipe for disaster.

In my opinion, I don't think a 14 year old and 18 year old should be dating just because the girl is only 14. To me, thats way too young to be dating. However, if you're asking me whether its legal or not, it is as long as they dont get too intimate. If you know what I mean.

first off, it is against the law and I have been in this sit. with my little cousin. If he seems to truely care for her... it's ok.. but the minute he starts getting bossy. tell somebody. When my cousin Brittany broke up with her 18 yr old boyfriend for being bossy he started stalking her and ended up throwing her up against a wall at school. So just watch out for her.

in some state it is against the law but i really wanna know what she is thinking i ain't that old but god tell her that if she continues to have a relationship and they have kids its a good chances that he is into young girls which can be a very bad thing if she has young children in the house. is she having sex with him yet you know?

If they are intimate there are laws in many states that he could be charged with rape. My question is why aren't her parents performing their parental duties and keeping her home where she belongs until she is old enough to give informed consent?

well, many people have a problem with that, but as long as they love each other, I don't see the problem. there are no laws against them dating, i don't think, but it is illegal for them to have sex.

Where are her parents.
It is to touch private parts.
He must wait 4 years or he can do 25.
