~The rib issue has been resolved since Vesalius did the proper count in 1543, although some people, male and female have only 11 sets as opposed to the customary 12. (Then there's Jane Fonda and her vain ilk who have some surgically removed in an attemp to look more anorexic.
The biblical veracity issue has been resolved individually by thinking people since the first time each person actually thinks about the mythology, relates it to empirical evidence or compares it other mythologies, but as long as the narrow-minded biggoted zealots abound, the issue will remain (officially) unresolved.

Men have the same amount of ribs as women.
ONLY Adam has one less rib bone. It was used by God to create Eve. Since then every human being has the same amount of ribs that Adam was originally created with, with the exception of genetic disorders or other such birth defects.

Even though Adam lost a rib, the genetic information that coded the rib was still present in his body, and passed to his descendants. If a man lost a finger in an accident, would his descendants also be missing a finger?
The Bible is inerrant in history, doctrine and ethics, and Genesis 1 -11 is considered history.

What are you talking about? The Bible does not say that man has one less rib bone than a woman. God took (ADAM's rib) and made woman ... so, that made Adam lack one rib.
