Is it ok to bash someone who doesn't agree with you, or even just for kicks? I know that you can't be made to 'grow up', but, sometimes I wish that certain leaders/levels can moderate this forum as well.
I am a christian. I have been bashed. I think more highly of most logical atheists, than misinformed believers, or people who just like to instigate. This won't change. This question will probably be deleted. But, I have to ask.....why? Why hurt someone? Can you not rise above human nature and control your impulses? This is what seperates us from animals. I would hate to think that my neighbor is just an animal, that could attack without provocation.

I hope this is not misinterpretated as anything against any belief. Theist, Atheist....it does not matter.

It is those that prowl, looking for a way to strike out and maul someone. You have seen Amy formally leave. I hope she adopts a new name and avatar. Those who know her, will recognize her. Those of us who just met and began to see things thru questions/answers, will still be blessed by those things.

Because there are people who just cant understand, and since they cant they have to bash it so the feel they are above it. There are some who would say that no one cares about others on this forum, their have been some to say that it was odd that I felt a connection with some of these people who respond to my answers, but I do. I dont care if they dont understand, that is not my job. But what is my job as a fellow human being who loves others, my job is to accept my lack of understanding, and not place judgement on it so that I can justify my own ignorance. I just wish that others would understand that too.
And yes I will miss amy very much, and I did care, and she did affect me. And I am crying from our loss(a voice of reason)

I wish you well.

It's not just Christians getting bashed....

A good ol' Christian woman named Muffy has some very strong words towards us Atheists that is worse than most things I've seen said about Christians.

I'm sorry that some of the Atheists give you problems though. Don't judge us all by those lame few, like I try not to judge you by Muffy.

I don't know what you are referring to, but I am sorry that you feel you have been bashed. I think sometimes we may hit too close to home, and people bash out of defense. I mean, some times it is easier to hurt someone, than to look deeper and maybe have to open up our minds. I don't know because I don't know the circumstances , but just an honest thought here, and a kind word. I am sorry that you have been hurt, my heart goes out to you.

You make some very good points. Michael Medved has a good term for our ever-lowering standards; he calls it "defining deviancy down."
The depressing truth is that whenever we think no one can go lower, someone always seems to find a way to lower the bar yet another notch.

I ask myself this every time I get a violation. There are just some people that think its funny and they don't care. They come here for no other reason than to make other people miserable.

Humans are animals, and this thing we call civilization is a very thin veneer that can come tumbling down in a second.
