You buy the little boxes of dye at the grocery store with the little drop bottles, and you drop 4 drops each of red and yellow in a dish, then two drops of each of blue and green. You have to use red in the black to get that true dark black color. Use it in larger increments if that isn't enough dye, although it should be enough to dye two cups of sugar for lollipops or one cup of icing.

It is a mix of the primary colors (red, yellow, and blue). Wilton makes a great black color, but it's corn based. I am making something that I'd like to share with someone with a corn allergy, so I'm looking for another (preferably natural) alternative.

You buy the little packing containers of dye on the grocery keep with the little drop bottles, and also you drop four drops each of pink and yellow in a dish, then drops of every of blue and inexperienced. you have to use pink inside the black to get that actual darkish black coloration. Use it in large increments if that is not sufficient dye, even though it should be enough to dye cups of sugar for lollipops or one cup of icing.

mix all of the colors together in even parts. if you put 1/8 of a teaspoon of one color do it for all the colors. Keep adding in equal parts until it is dark enough.
