The problem w/ the pre-packaged stuff is that it tastes pre-packaged. Making it from scratch is so easy it's a joke. I made it last night for a party of 10.
Heat 1 quart of heavy cream till a low bubble. Stir occasionally, allowing it to thicken but NOT BOIL OVER, about 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat, add a pinch of salt, a little fresh ground pepper, and 2/3 C of freshly grated parmigian cheese. Stir. Voila, Alfredo!! Trust me, you'll love this so much better! :)

In a pan, Butter, and cream. Once heated, add Parmesan/Romano grated cheese blend a little at a time, stirring all the while until it reaches the correct consistency. A pinch of garlic powder along the way won't hurt either. That's it, why buy some chemically treated preservative over priced tasteless canned or jarred product?

Classico has a nice one, but I would suggest making it yourself. It is not difficult and there are many recipes available. Plus you probably have most of the ingredients (It's really just milk and butter with cheese)

Why not make your own? Just make a basic white sauce and add parm & romano cheeses, black or white pepper, and garlic.
