he was perfectly healthy, and there are no internal, or external injuries.

its not a very good riddle because:
If it was superman, he would have suffered internal injuries because of the kryptonite. Whilst it is never stated, for anyone (superman included) to die from radiation (all beit from kryptonite), there has to be some kind of injury at a cellular level, causing internal bleeding or destroying neural pathways. This means that he has some internal injuries. Another perfectly suitable answer would be stroke or heart attack, both of which would qualify as much as superman Vs Kryptonite

The fall over the rock scared him to death?
You said a rock was next to him, so that's got to be some pretty pertinent information.
Depending on the size of the rock, he couldn't see the road ahead of him and maybe he died from hunger and thirst.... starved to death.

He bumped his head into the rock? Or maybe he had an accident and busted his head on the rock..Or maybe, the rock has nothing to do...IT might have been a car accident and somehow or the other he co-incidently landed next to the rock..

well heres a guess the rock was in a sling shot and it was frozen in a piece of ice than when melted it hit him but the water washed off the marks?
