I can feel your excitement for the Lord. Don't ever let anyone that that away from you. God can use us no mater what our age. With that said I would like to see you continue to grow in your love for our Lord and in knowledge of His word. Hit your books hard too, then off to a good Bible school a good one that hold Jesus up to the world. Then you can get to work, maybe in pastoring a youth group. None of us know everything God would have us learn you don't now, I don't know, no one does. Stay excited for His glory and do what you are called by God and His church to do. You have a lot of time to continue in the work. I'm not telling you to slow down I am pleading for you not to burn out... Jim

No you are not to young to preach the Gospel
Passage Jonah 3:2:
2Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee
Luke 9:6:
6And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
Passage Acts 8:4:
4Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
Passage Acts 28:31:
31Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
Passage Romans 16:25:
25Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Passage 1 Corinthians 2:4:
4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
Passage 2 Corinthians 10:14:
14For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:
Passage 2 Timothy 4:17:
17Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
Passage Titus 1:3:
3But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
As the you can see the scriptures do not mind you preaching the Gospel so how ever that the Lord wants to use in order for Him to get the Glory at the end then do it. Do it in the midst of adversity and doubt and at the end you will be rewarded handsomley.
I know you want to be able to hear "My good and faith servant you have been faithful over a few things now i will make you ruler over many"
My friend was 17 i think when the Lord was greatly using him.
Trust in the Lord.
"Worry about nothing, Pray about everything and Love everyone as Christ loves you"

Paul exhorts Timothy to not encourage those who are too young to teach. He felt they had a lot to learn. Don't let you Pastor dictate God's will to you. Ultimately, your guidance comes from God and His word. Your emphasis must be on the love of God and not what the Pastor says or your talent. You must have a hunger for the souls of men. Jesus is your example. He was not a braggart, nor should you be. Jesus humbled Himself when He came to earth.
Your Pastor does not seem to be a very good role model. He sounds like a bully. Seek another church that possesses a more positive message. Wait until you've been to Bible college and instructed on how to construct a sermon, before you get pushed into something before you are ready.

you need to define your terms - and you really ought to get better at doing that before you start preaching.
Ask yourself what the proper method of interpretation of the Bible is.
Ask yourself what your soteriological doctrine is.
Ask yourself what your ecclesiological doctrine is.
Ask yourself if you meet the standards shown in Timothy.
To me, those four things comprise your ability to preach. It's great that you've given good messages, but if you want to lead a church, there are many more things to consider. Be careful that your pride does not drag you into a ministry that is self-glorifying. As you've seen there are thousands of people on this site alone that hate all of us Christians because many ministries have been hurtful. At the same time there are people on this site that don't stand a chance in eternity because they have been introduced to this doctrine of "no standards" that i think you are talking about.
We are not under the law, that was a dispensation we have never been in contact with; however, there are still standards for the lives of Christians. You read through both books written to Timothy and tell me there aren't. Read the Prison Epistles (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians) and tell me there are no admonitions to Christians. The Sermon on the Mount gives commands. I+II Peter give exhortations to believers. Romans is called the Constitution of Christianity by many. James gives discourse into the manifestation of Faith through works. Philemon is about Forgiveness. I John teaches the avoidance of sin in order to be a child of God.
It is a dangerous thing to try to lead people away to the true standards of God. If you tell people there is no standard to live up to, then you are a liar and a heretic.
If i have misunderstood you, then I apologize, and I am sure you understand.

Well, There ARE certain standards of holiness that one must teach, preach and MAINTAIN in their personal lives to be able to be the example God wants us to be to the world. Without standards of holiness, our "righteousness is as filthy rags" like the Scripture says. Therefore the question is, are you willing to "come out from among the world and be a SEPERATE" person? If so, you must maintain the standards of holiness and stand firmly upon them, never compromising them and be gentle when the need arises, yet tough when the need arises. Your pastor can better guide you if he has a desire to use standards as a guide.. If not, you're both in a bit of trouble in my humble opinion. Good luck, and God bless!

I think you should preach what the Holy Spirit tell you to preach regardless of what doctrine man teaches. Man will tell you the wrong thing....Those who are led by the spirit of God are the Children of God....Don't be led by emotions, denominational doctrine or tradition, but be led by the Holy Ghost....In Acts 4 Peter and John was arrested and was brought forth to the Elders/Priests of Israel and they tried to control and tell them what they wanted them to preach. But, Peter and John said in verse 19 & 20..."Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard (from Christ). And no you are not too young. God will use anyone who is willing no mater what age, gender, nationality, etc...

I don't know what you mean about standards but if God is calling you then I suggest you be a willing vessel. Age is not a factor.
1 Timothy 4:12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Do you understand what I am saying to you? DO IT RIGHT IF YOU ARE GOING TO PREACH THE WORD OF GOD..DON'T DOUGHT YOURSELF....I am a Church of Christ member if you are wondering. PRAY...
