Oh wow my favorite question. Do this & they'll be crying, it's so delicious!!!

Cut the very top off a big head of garlic, drizzle a little olive oil & salt on top, wrap it in foil & roast it @ 375 for 35-40 minutes. It will be like butter, and you can just squeeze the garlic cloves out if you hold the head upside down.

Roasted garlic, 1/2 a package of cream cheese, butter, milk, salt & pepper in your potatoes. After they're mashed, serve them with some finely chopped chives on top. You won't be sorry!!! Everyone will want to know why they taste so unique and so good, but don't tell 'em!! :)

The best ingredients to add are the simple ones. Real butter, sea salt and a little thyme but most important is the variety of potato to use. A floury one like a Kerr's Pink is delicious and cooks pretty quick. Mash thoroughly and add the above but never too much of either as A Kerr's Pink has its unique taste. Enjoy.

Roasted garlic and cheese - brie, mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar are all grrrrrreat to add but probably not at the same time. Then again, maybe that could work too.

If I want something plainer I just mash them with a bit of cream and butter and add some fresh nutmeg...mmm!

The beauty of mashed potatoes , Emily, is that you can add just about anything. In fact there's a restaurant in Idaho that serves just mashed potatoes plus whatever: BBQ, Cheddar, Mushrooms and Onions, etc.

Mash plenty of butter in then add some cream, and grated cheese, mmmmm my mouth is watering now,

Sometimes i make carrot and potato mash, leaving out the cream but still using loads of butter.

Add pesto since it contains garlic and parmesan cheese along with olive oil, toasted pine nuts, basil and parsley. The green color also makes it a more decorative dish.

I also saw Giada De Laurentiis blend a bag of defrosted frozen peas and she added it to the potatoes to get the kids to eat their veggies in a disguised technique.

bake a potato and cut in half - scoop out the potato and mash with butter, salt, red mature cheese, english mustard and a splash of lean & perrins worcester sauce [ optional extras: ground black pepper, chives, spring onion, red or green peppers and bits of smoky bacon or tuna ]

place back in the potato skins and sprinkle white cheddar cheese on top and place in a VERY hot oven for a few minutes and serve - More addictive than drugs

First I boil the potatoes with a celery stick or onion rings. Then after they are mashed, I add a little of each: mayonnaise, butter, cream, Parmesan and pinch of salt. Sometimes I add sauteed mushrooms, too.
It's a hit!

its always got to be made with a little warm milk and loads of butter. I love to add either grated cheese or spring onions. Making mash with one sweet potato added is good too.

Home made with red potatoes leave skins on, boil, mash.
In a separate sauce pan, melt butter, half a cube, add some minced garlic let it brown lightly, but don't burn butter, salt and pepper with a touch of dill, mix in the potatoes, also adding milk, 2 tablespoons of sour cream, and one teaspoon of creamed horseradish. bam. enjoy.. my recipe
