some questions to dr lara that were never answered can somone please help! I need these answers to better understand the bible

* When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?

* I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

* Lev. 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mind claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify?

* I have a neighbor who insists on working the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

* A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this

LOL...ahh, the "Why Can't I Own Canadians?" Great piece, even though it's a little mangled here. The great thing is, no "christian" could possibly answer it without admitting that their religion is self-contradictory, arbitrary and hypocritical.

To the girl who says she has the answer (hallelujah!), namely, that Jesus came and eliminated the need for all these strictures - how bout some bible verse! "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil" (Matthew 5:17). So you absolutely SHOULD be observing Mosaic law, according to Jesus himself.

Then the girl who says "The majority of these things happened long ago when the society and culture were different." Yeah...good point! You know, Jesus was about 2,000 years ago himself! But it's probably blasphemous to suggest that things may have changed since then.

Then we get to: "Ok laugh it up...make fun of God but I want to be in the front row when it's your time to be judged.....LOOSER."

This is the crack cocaine of "christian" arrogance and vindictiveness. She just can't wait for her mythical "judgement day" so she can laugh at the TC being thrown into the pit of hell. Which, I'm sure, is WJWD.

The majority of these things happened long ago when the society and culture were different. Looking back there in many things in the bible that do not and cant be related to now times. Examples: Because of Jesus we no longer need sacrifical or burnt offerings...slaves were not treated the same as the slaves we know of, most of the time because became slaves to pay back people they owed money too....many of these questions are ridicoulous and you should be ashamed.

Please understand that all religious are telling story which is sometimes not suitable right now. They are teaching people in certain thing happening when they were done correctly but not this moment. The alter burning animal is to telling people contribution. I am sure god will not eat that burnt animal. So reality and trueth are found out though discussion and testing and proof.

Sure I can clear this up...you are looking at Old Testament scriptures which was the covenant between God and the people following mosaic law (jews). Jesus negated our nedd as gentiles to follow those laws as they were never meant for the Gentiles. He also made it okay for the jews to set those laws aside and simply follow Jesus. They chose not to. Those who (JEWS) live by the laws will be judged according to the laws. Those who lived by Faith in Jesus and in the teachings He handed down to the Gentiles will be judged by their faith.

If you are trying to offend the xtians cool and all, BUT christians don't believe in everything from the old testiment SINCE the new testiment came with their lord jesus christ.
duh.
ask the jewish community. their messiah hasn't come and they believe in the old testiment.

Christianity isn't based on the old testament. It's based on Jesus. Maybe you should read a little more.

We're not under the old covenant anymore, but under the new covenant because Jesus "WAS" the sacrifice once and for all for all mankind.
