I breast-fed my baby for a long time, even afer he had teeth.
I read a lot about bottle-rot and all that but the articals never said anything about it affecting babies who breast fed.

I started to notice decay on his teeth. I showed it to the pediatrician. His pediatritian was a big advocate for breastfeeding so he told me it was all superficial and not to worry about it. I finally changed pediatricians and the new doctor told me that my baby's teeth needed caps and everything!

As if that news wasn't bad enough, when I got to the baby-dentist, they put my son in a 'papoose', basicly bound him and did the dental work without novicane! I would have rather they done that to me instead of him. He screamed and cried - it was awful!

That was like 10 years ago. My son has forgotten all about it and his teeth are fine - no cavaties this last check-up. He doesn't have any memory of it but I'm still mortified.

My youngest was almost killed when she was 4 months old by my babysitters husband. He shook her so bad she had 11 retinal hemorrages and she had a head injury equivalent to being dropped 20 feet and landing on her head because he threw her into the ceiling fan. Thank God she's ok now and just getting ready to turn 14!!!

My 3 year old fell trying to escape from a (locked) garden by climbing over a 4 ft fence. He fell off the fence and hit his head. He had 6 stitches and his face was a mess of bruises and small cuts. We went back to the friends house about a week after and he tried to do it again!!!

She burnt her hand on an incense stick- we didn't see that she went anywhere near it, we just heard her scream and couldn't figure out what had happened. After that initial scream, she stopped and never gave us any reason to think that there was any injury.

It wasn't until later that night, whenI found a blister on her hand, that I knew what had happened.....
....the award for the most guilt EVER felt should have gone to me that night.

However, she doesn't go anywhere near them now, she has learned her lesson.

My sons elbow is permanently dislocated. Doctors didn't set it properly and by the time they noticed all the tissue, tendons, etc had settled around the bone. Surgery could cause him to lose use of the entire arm.

When I put my son in daycare, one of the teachers slammed the door on his finger so hard it fractured. He was only 1 at the time that this happened. She wasn't paying attention as she closed the door. He is two now and not in daycare.

my 18 month old was "helping," me with dinner. She picked a can of corn out of the cubbard and dropped it on her big toe. Her nail completely came off. It grew back but I felt so bad for the poor baby.

my daughter has never really been hurt too bad (thank god) but when she was about 9 months old she was starting to try and stand, and she was leaning against the corner of the fridge and she slipped and bumped her head and got this huge purple lump right in the corner of her head. it was so sad....
