My boyfriend is in Tanagaphoa Parish jail and has good days built up and I was trying to figure out how many days actually add up to one day in jail time. Does good days even mean he gets out early?

In MD - you get 5 good days per month. For example, if you have a 10 year sentence - the state will release you 600 days early unless you obtain parole. Some states release you 600 days early and you spend the other 600 days on parole before your probation begins.

You can earn more good days by working in the kitchen or taking certain classes. You lose good days by acting up and winding up in the "hole." Some inmates can earn up to 15 days a month in good time by working and serving as inmate repesentatives. If you have consecutive and/or concurrent sentences - the math is a little different.

You can always call the facility to obtain an accurate release date - your boyfriend should be telling you the things he's doing to get more good days and an earlier release.

Usually depends on the policy of the jail. Give them a call and ask about thier good time policy and how it works.

Normally for sentenceing, with 100% good behavior. He will be released after serving aproximately 66%-80% of his sentance. Sorry but thats just the way it is.
