males get an erection for many different reasons including some nonsexual reasons. What makes the penis erect is an inflow of blood to the penile tissues. There are valves that shut off and trap the blood while the male is aroused and when he is not the valves open releasing the blood back into the bloodstream. When a male is sexually aroused he is primarily visually stimulated hence why porn and magazines like playboy are so popular among men. Most men when in an aroused state are thinking about things of a purient nature probalby a naked woman or anticipating sex with a partner. Some may see a pretty gilrl and get an erection and some may remember a experience that was wonderful and see that person again and get an erection. Frankly I don't think then end all be all should be getting a guy "hard" they tend to do that well enough on their own.

A frigging door knob can get a guy going in the right conditions. Sexual arousement can happen with something you say, a physical touch, or a erotic vision. The degree might be different but it shouldn't be much different than what turns you on.

the are probably thinking about sex and all the girl has to do is either show off her body in a way that he likes or make "contact" in all the right areas
