i have heard that some companies are paying large sums of money to have American civillians work in the war torn countries. I am looking for a list of these companies.

Most of those jobs require very specialized training. For example, Blackwater hires former Navy Seals and Army Rangers to do high level security jobs overseas. They will certainly make that money, but the cost of insurance is the driving factor for the wages. Don't be fooled with most of the job listing unless you have that skill or at a minimum, a security clearance.

Additionally, some of the higher-than-normal wages come from the fact that many combat zones are exempt from Federal Income Tax. I know military members love to re-enlist overseas in war zones to get the entire bonus tax free.

That's alot of money for a 6 month contract. Short answer, don;t do it. You won't last five minutes and your nerves will be shot to hell. I know some pretty tough guys (ex S.A.S.) that have been sent out there to work with British companies, on return, they said they would rather go to hell than go back.

No kidding. I applied to KBR just to drive a truck, they have a waiting list a mile long and I haven't been called in 6 months. They told me it is about a 5 yr wait.
