You should differ between the language needed in school or at work, and that you would study because you like it. You may say what you like on the language the most.

My mother tongue is Spanish. I speak fluently two other languages: English and French. I studied English 7 years (at least 4 hours per day) and French during 3 years (also 4 hours per day). I would say I prefer English because of the accent, because it's easier -in my country- to find people who could speak it and finally because of its economy-logic-almost- mathematics nature. But it's also true that I love French because of the pronunciation challenges and the richness I could enjoy as I was able of reading more and more in this language. I love both languages a lot.

Maybe I should add that I love to learn languages because they are not only an easier way of reading/understanding texts and speakers, but also because each language brings a complete array of particular features that -related to gestures and body language- in some cases don't appear in other languages and become unique characteristics of people (in the sense of community), i.e. in some Spanish-speaking countries we are used to point to an object or a person with our lips. It's considered bad manners if we do it with our fingers.

That's as awesome as the fact that we had unique fingerprints. ;)

My mother tongue is English, and my favorite foreign language is Spanish (the only one I am studying, although I know a few words here and there in other languages). I would guess that I spend about 14 hours a week studying Spanish. I talk in Spanish everyday, and it always seems to surprise people that I speak so fluently not being a native speaker. Spanish is so beautiful and I can't get enough of it!

I speak English maternally and I learned French in school. I love French because it's the only language where you can curse at someone and it still sounds like you're reciting a poem, it's like the BMW of languages. I stopped studying once I reached a certain level, though to stay fluent I watch Quebeçois tv and listen to French music.
