find your own way; be a good person for the sake of being a good person - expect no other reward.

If 500 people you knew jumped off a bridge, would you? There is more to this life, to this world, than biblical scripture. Don't be afraid of it; if you don't find Christianity in your heart, there anre many other paths.

Be bold. Go where truth leads you, and don't worry about the control mechanisms of others.

Stop. Think. Reason. Just listen to yourself for a moment. You need to ask yourself if you want to have a relationship with Jesus Christ or God His Father. Second, is it really true that you will burn in hell? Since you quoted the scriptures on the things that might get one to heaven, check the scriptures to see where it says one will burn in hell.

Sorry to spoil the party, but only a certain number of people will be going to Heaven. The Bible mentions a number of spirit-annointed group that will be in heaven (See Revelation 14:1-4).

You mentioned that two things will get you into heaven. Is that all? You don't have to do the work that Jesus did while on earth (See Matthew 24:24; 28:19, 20)? You do not have to abide by Bible principles? It is so easy to say sorry for your sins, but do you still repeat the same sins over and over consciously? If so, would you really be sorry? Accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior is only one of many things that will get one life. Also, getting to know His Heavenly Father Jehovah God is essential and vital (See Isaiah 48:17; Galatians 5:22, 23). Not to offend you, but you have a long way to get everlasting life. It takes hard work to acquire accurate knowlege, hate what God hates, love what God loves and always do His will, not your own.

Thanks,

My suggestion to you - which I say in all gentleness - don't find God. Let him find you.

Simply open your heart up to all the possibilities life has to offer. Most of all, give up your fears. Even your fear of hell is an obstacle, and not a help, where meeting God is concerned. St. Peter, when walking on the water to Jesus, only began to sink when he became afraid. God has nothing to do with Hell, for God is love, so do not be afraid, for you will not find him with your fears.

Learn to leave your heart open. Learn to appreciate the silence. Learn to appreciate the good and Christ-like people you know in your life, even if they are very few in a world of broken people like you and me. If you learn to leave your heart open, that is probably enough. God already knows the door.

In parting, I leave you this poem, by a monk named John of the Cross. He wrote it in a dark time of his life too - imprisoned without hope, longing for a God he felt he could no longer find. In his darkness, God found him.

"Reveal Your presence,
And let the vision and Your beauty kill me.
Behold the malady
Of love is incurable
Except in Your presence and before Your face."

It sounds like you need more advice than I can give, but let me give you two points of assurance:

1. If you believe that you are going to hell, then you do believe. If not - if you believed that God was not real, then you would not be worried. If God doesn't exist, then he can't punish you for not believing in him.

2. Perhaps you do believe, but you are tormented by doubt. That's the hard thing about being a Christian - there are always questions, always things that you will not understand, or that will seem unbelievable. Just hold on to the things that you do believe in, and act like you believe in the rest. Try not to sin. Pray to God. Ask for forgiveness and pray that you will be helped. Somewhere along the way you will find that you really do believe.

Can't find God? ... You don't need to find Him, He will find you if you seek Him, God does the finding through His Holy Spirit, but we must do the seeking. If we will draw near to Him He will draw near to us.

I just can't believe ...... It seems to me that you're are almost there, "I really do want to have a relationship with Jesus" .... your words, not mine, that's the first step. You should also know that Jesus want's that too.

There's no set "formula" for being saved, salvation does not come as a result of "doing" or saying specific things. It comes from being convicted in your heart by the Holy Spirit.

God is happy to take us just as we are, He then promises not to leave us that way, but to fill us with the peace and love that goes beyond our understanding, to renew us.

Talk it over with God, have some quiet time together, just you and Him. Recognise that you have sin in your life and in need of His forgiveness and when your ready, just tell Him (out loud) that you believe in His Son Jesus Christ and accept Him to be the Lord and Saviour of your life.

And remember, just the way you are. God bless you through Jesus Christ and by the power of His Holy Spirit.

So what belief system did you create (not someone else, but you) that makes you think you are unworthy? When asked, Jesus said of the two greatest commandments was, "Love your neighbor as yourself", which I choose to believe means that we must have love for ourself before we can love others. If God and Jesus does not judge you, why should you accept the judgement of someone else who says you are not worthly of God's love.
And to hear God, stop yelling for him. Be quiet, and you will hear Him in the small voice inside of you. God is not out there somewhere, but inside you. Just be still and know that I am God!

I hope this can help you stop worrying. If you want to believe God will help you. We certainly can't believe in Him on our own!
Mark 9:24 says, "Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

Basically you should understand and believe these things:
1. Heaven is a free gift-it cannot be earned or deserved.
2. Man is a sinner and cannot save himself.
3. God is merciful and doesn't want to punish us, but He is just so He must punish sin.
4. Jesus Christ was God and Man. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose from the grave to purchase a place for us in Heaven.
5. Faith in Jesus Christ is the way to Heaven. This means trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. Rest on Christ alone and what He has done, not what you can do.

So transfer your trust to Christ, accept Him as your Savior, receive Him as Lord, and repent. If you pray these things to Him you will be saved! :-)

Romans 10:10,13 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

John 6:47 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life.

Luke 15:10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

IIt is hard to have faith in some one that you can't see. I will have to tell you the story of my experience in knowing Jesus.

I was a church goer, sometimes. I was afraid of Hell. I really tried to be good but, failed many times.

One day, when I was alone, I sat down and talked to God. I said, " God if you are really there, I want to tell you that I don't love you like I should. Can you help me to do this?"

Within about 2 weeks things started to happen in my life. People who loved Jesus were brought into my life.(I had never known Jesus as my personal Savior). I learned about God's Holy Spirit who was sent by Jesus to help us with our sorrows and every day life problems.

I had never really realized that Jesus didn't have to die for me He didn't have to suffer on the cross or be completely separated from God, for the sins that I had committed. But, He chose to do it. I then began to believe in Him, to understand His love for me, and to love Him.

So, my advise is talk to God about it even if you don't believe now. He can change everything if you want Him to.

I will be praying for you.

Actually, the Bible doesn't teach that. The Bible teaches that we can have everlasting life, but it does not teach that we will all go to heaven, and it most certainly does not teach that our God, who is LOVE, would send his creation to a fiery hell to be tormented for ever. I would have a hard time in believing in a god like that. The Bible says at

John 17:3..."This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

How we take in knowledge, or get to know God and Jesus, is by carefully studying the Bible. The Bible is a loving gift from God to us, so that we can have the opportunity to get to know him. It is like a letter from our loving Father. Only by studying His Word, can we come to really know him. After we learn what he requires from us, then we can make an educated decision about if we chose to love him and serve him.

I don't believe ANY of that and I know there is NO hell. You can believe anything you want to but I KNOW for a FACT that there is no hell. Although I can be a jerk on here, I did have an experience -- a very small glimpse -- of God about 10 years ago. And God is ONLY about unconditional love. The belief in hell and sin and guilt and all that negative stuff keeps the real god hidden from our experience. It's replaced by a false god that our egos made up and it's why the only 'answer' we ever receive from it is our own ego voice inside that we mistake for the real god. People who DIRECTLY experience god (and not those who believe they hear god's voice) come away with an overwhelming joy and love that sometimes keeps them awake for DAYS. God is Unconditional Love and nothing else. Hell, sin, etc. are all things our human/ego thought system made as part of god.

First and most important thing about finding Jesus and God;
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO FORGIVE YOURSELF.
But no one is telling you to believe, it is up to you, yourself and Thou. I can suggest only to start with yourself and acknowledging that you are a worthy person to yourself. Jesus is a spiritual guide and savior He has sacrificed Himself in order for you to be free of sin, in believing in Him you have a great advantage over evil/wrong and you have strength of spirit. Be it as it may, though, you might want to talk to your Minister or Spiritual Leader about this, you might be just a tad bit confused about the role Jesus plays in your life as you want to live it.
