Yes, they do work. My mother in law is on Weight Watchers. The group things like Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers work because they offer support health eating plans and encouragement. The little prizes when you make a goal help too. The most important factor in them working is that you stay with the program and eating patters they help you develope.

Weight watchers is all about counting carbs and calories.weight watchers has 2 plans the flexible points plan or no counting plan.
With the flex plan you can enjoy the full range of foods while making better choices with their point system, choose any food as long as you control how much you consume. On the Core plan you eat wholesome foods from all the food groups including fruits and veggies, grain and starches lean meats and poulty, eggs and dairy products, you would enjoy eating satisfying meals without all the empty calories.so if youre on low income this would be a bit costly.Jenny Craig you have to buy the food directly from them. can be costly. they both work eventually. Personally i have tried Jenny and it costed me almost 300.00 only to loose 25 pounds it wasnt worth it . i could have made all that stuff at home the only bonus of the meals coming to you is that it is the right size. Weight lose is 50%mental and 50% physical. I am currently taking relacore with a fat burner ive been on it for 31/2 weeks and i have lost 25 pounds. i am also signed up with my local gym and work out a min of 3 times a week. Diet programs do help people lose weight if they follow them correctly. They help you plan real meals that are low in fat & carbs, but with the healthy things you need. They help you cut calories and avoid foods high in sugar & sodium. These are things the average person doesn't know when buying & making food. It's like having your own nutritionalist.

They will tell you the program works best if you have a good workout program too - which they can help you with based on your age & current weight, and your goal weight.

For a lot of people, following a step by step program that they are paying for is easier than trying to keep up the commitment alone. If you join one, join with a friend - it's more fun that way.

Any weight loss program can help you loose weight if followed correctly.

Basically the thing behind those types of diets are you are limiting your calorie in take and managing portions. These are things you can learn without them if you do enough research. What you are paying for is the knowledge that they give you about eating. In the US portion size has been so distorted.

The other thing they teach, is that you should not eliminate certain foods (i.e. carbs) from your diet and that you should eat 6 small meals a day.

They also teach that you should eat a healthy portion of food a day because if you eat to little of an amount your body will go into starvation mode and attempt to "hoard" the fat and prevent you from loosing weight. They also suggest you start a scheduled exercise routine, I have been going to Curves.

I haven't ever done any of these types of diets (the food is to expensive) but I still follow the same types of guidelines and have lost about 40lbs. The major thing to remember is, don't do fad diets. They wont last. Educate yourself about what you are eating and work at it to make it become permanent eating habits, instead of constant diets.

Weight Watchers has been said to be the most sucessful of all diets. You can eat just about anything on Weight Watchers. They follow a points program. That would be the way to go.
