Absolute truth can be very harsh. I used to be quite naive and truthful as a little boy, but as I grew up I learnt better. How can you look school bully in the eye and say that he just swallowed some extra strong laxative meant for horses? I learned a lot since then. The option to tell a lie helps a lot.

Of course I'd love to speak nothing but the truth. But sometimes the truth hurts so bad, that, honestly, I think I'd keep the option to lie.

i always tell the truth too, but i've found the odd little white lie gets you out of trouble when you need the back up, if you think about it we all lie really...if someone asked you if you thought they were ugly for example (and they was) well would you be as cruel as to tell them?...i'd choose to keep the option to lie

Even though I love the truth ... I would have to keep the option ...
I would always want to be told the truth ... cause i'm a grown up and can handle it ... but the truth hurts and some people are not strong enough to deal with it ... and the vulnerable need to be protected ... sometimes

well I am very honest, shall I say my best feature or this is what makes me stupid... I hate to lie and being lied. I tell you something though it is very difficult not to lie in this word we live in. You have to lie constantly at work at home to your friends to the ones closest to you. I chose not to. At the end of the day, I might have told you something you didn't like to hear but I sleep with a clear conscious because of this. By the way, I was even sacked from my job once as I said no to lying! Proud of this in fact !

well if EVERYONE had to follow one of these...then i would say absolute truth because even if u thought that it could hurt someone's feelings, they would say something back to u too...so if everyone had to follow one of these, i would choose absolute truth.
However, if it was only me, then i would choose keeping the option because sometimes u dont wanna tell ppl how they really are or how u really feel
