We thought it would take forever and that there would be HUGE problems. The three prior generations in my maternal line have had reproductive problems, including early (28-38) hysterectomies. I was 28 when we got married, so, time was running out with my family history. His mother had 3 miscarriages/stillborns, another son who died at 19 of a congenital defect, and a daughter born at 26 weeks. My husband's done two tours in Iraq, and was exposed to all SORTS of chemicals. So, we were ready for a long time trying, possible repeated heartache, and, probably, adoption.
Right after we got married he had to leave for yet ANOTHER school (he's been deployed twice, so I shouldn't complain about a seven week school). So, we decided we'd wait until he was back from school to begin trying (if he passed this particular school, he was guaranteed a state-side tour for three years, so, he'd be able to be home for the pregnancy/birth, assuming I conceived within two years).
How long did it take? One night.
The reason I know the exact date of conception is I had partially torn my meniscus the week before he finished school, so, I wasn't exactly having sex seventeen times a week when he got back. It's pretty painful! (The knee, not the sex ;-) He passed the school, came home, and our daughter was conceived. It was "welcome home" sex. And then he had to wait a while until my knee didn't hurt so badly.
She's perfectly healthy, strong, intelligent, everything you could wish for. And to think, it only took one try.
We call her our "one-shot wonder". :-)

I wasn't attempting to have a sprint one on the time that I obtained pregnant, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that I wasn't doing plenty to stop it from occurring (pull out ideas-set does not paintings in any respect!!) and that i ended taking transport cope with after being on it for 5 years in October 2006 and that i found out i used to be pregnant October 2007. i do no longer understand if it had to do with having been on the beginning manage, or the certainty that i used to be with rather everyone new.. yet the two potential it is going I obtained pregnant precisely a year after i ended taking it.
