Unfortunately, death is a part of war, but since reenlistment is very high for the troops who have been to Iraq, I am inclined to think the stats are pretty accurate.

I say we take our troops to Turkey or Israel and monitor what happens in Iraq.
I've always wondered if the insurgency would calm down if we left. It's not like I'm expecting a picknick, but it might not be as bad. I know that Americans being over there makes them even madder and it would be interesting to see what would happen if we pulled out. At least our troops would be safer for awhile. And maybe if it got real bad then the UN would offer to help contain the situation.

Why are the liberals and their friends in the MSM so fixated on the US "death toll", and you NEVER hear anything about how many terrorists we have killed. The anti-war crowd doesn't want you to know. Besides it's a little hard to tell when all their cowardly "soldiers" hide in civilian clothing. Most of the"civilian deaths" that the enemy reports are terrorists whose weapons have been taken away by their buddies and replaced with teddy bears before they parade willing, panting reuters photographers in to the scene.
Every one of our dead soldiers are American Heroes. That said, 3000 killed in five years of the "War on Terror" (Actually the first volley in WW3, between the West and Islamofascism) is a fantastically low number, in historical perspective. Look at casualty figures in previous wars. Single one-day battles produced more than that, often in the first hours. One of these days, the EU will decide that they are in danger of being over-run by yet another fascist enemy, and will plead with the good ole USA to come save their butts. I am looking forward to seeing that headline in the NYT.

I think that the terrorist took advantage of Ramadan, one of their holiest holidays, and attacked in full force as a show of defiance. And to please their false god.
Also, this is war. If we really look at the numbers from previous wars, you will find that the amount of lost since we started in Iraq is less than any of the other wars that we have fought for this stage in the game.

i think its a war. there are casualties in war. If you like your freedom, if you like going to work not having to wonder if the car next to you is going to blow up, if you like freedom of religion, and numerous other things, give thanks for the fallen and appreciate them and support those that are still fighting for you.

I think that you should remember the dead, but don't focus on it like so many do. It's war and if all you will do is count the dead, you can't fight.
