I weigh over 300 pounds. On a modular scale (the circle scale), after 300 pounds the needles moves on past the 0/300 mark to the additional pounds. For example, if you weigh 320, the modular scale will show 20, but you know you weigh more than 20 pounds.

What you tell people about your weight is up to you. If you weigh 350 and you say you weigh 300, it's a flat-out lie. You could say "I weight about 300 pounds" or "I weigh over 300 pounds" or "I'd rather not say" or "I'd rather not say exactly; after 300 pounds, I stop counting!"

Being a over 300 lbs myself I know what you are going through. Do I tell them the general truth and hope for the best or go find out exactly were you stand? I have been there done that. I usually find my self tell people I weight about 300 lbs. That isn't a lie because most people know it means + or - 20 lbs. Skinny people do it all the time to you know so why can't we hefty one's do it to?
As far as people going around saying go to a doc to lose it, that is up to you. I have no room to speak being in the same situation.

No, it's a deception. You're deceiving yourself too. If you try to convince yourself or anyone else that you only weight the "max" that your scale goes to, then you are being foolish and unhealthy.
You aren't facing the reality that you are morbidly obese (by definition) and you are putting yourself in a very risky and unhealthy position.

Face the truth that you are way overweight and DO something about it before it kills you. Be fair to yourself and your family!!!
Don't take this lightly (no pun intended). Love yourself enough to take action....in a year or less you can be proudly (and honestly) telling people that "I weigh 150 pounds" if you'd take the initiative to correct the problem. I don't mean to sound judgemental, but the facts are what they are.

Stop deceiving, start believing! You CAN do it.

You should tell them that is rude to ask such a question and you should say a scale is only for insecure people that even though your a rather large woman you are happy with your figure and thatsall that matters.

Well, you're only repeating what the scale told you, it's the scale that is lying, isn't it?
