came up to you and asked you "about her"...would you just say.."gosh, i don't know>>" (because you do NOT WANT TO BE INVOLVED)....what is best for you to do??? and you are not a gossip...you just let everyone do what's best for themselves...

Remember that the same person who comes to you seeking gossip about someone else will eventually gossip about you. There's nothing wrong with telling the person that you are not a gossiper, because most of the time gossips are lies or an exaggeration of the truth.

Girl A, B, C, talking trash about Girl D!
" Did you hear about D, she is sick 'cause she had sex with Boy?" A says.
"I know, it is so horrible! She is a Whore and every one thinks so!" Responds Girl B.
"I can't believe Boy is going out with D, he is going to catch something." Chimes in girl C.
Now Girls A, B, C, were down town and saw sick Girl D and decided to follow her and make fun of her. They heard what everyone was saying and they were saying it too, so they wanted her to know just how horrible she was for having sex with Boy. Didn't girl D know that she would give it to him?
They followed Girl D through the streets of the town and watched as she walked into the hospital.
"You see girls," said Girl A to Girls B and C, "we were right! SHe is sick and we need to tell everyone that she is contagious and not to go near her."
"We need to see what she has!" Replied B.
"Yes, yes!" said Girl C.
They continued to follow girl D into the building and up two flights of stairs. They hung back ever so slightly so that they could see where D was going but not so close that she would see A, B, and C.
They reached the floor and watched as she walked up to a counter where a nurse stood waiting for girl D.
"Ah, D, I'm so glad your here. You are a bit early for your treatments but we can get started."
Girl A, B, and C, smiled to themselves the nurses greeting only solidifying what they already knew. They were about to jump out and laugh at girl D when Boy walked out of a door and smiled at girl D.
"Hi Boy," the nurse greeted him warmly, " Did you come to sit with your sister while she has her next Cancer treatment?"
Girls A, B, and C were no longer smiling! Boy was not dating D but was infact her brother. Girl D did not have a sexually transmitted desease, she was dieing of cancer.
Do you see how stupid gossip is? YOu have no idea what really happened, even if you trust the source it came from. You have no idea how you will respond if this happens to you! Why put yourself in a position to be hate filled and ugly like Girls A, B, and C? Don't follow the crowd and be your own person!
People who really matter, and have standards will think better of you should you avoid doing something so childish! Don't be a child!

It depends on the nature of the gossip. In general, do not spread it.
If what you know may prevent someone close to you from being hurt (or anyone), find a way to let the other person know. You can say negative things in a positive way if you are careful.

Don't say anything. It's best just to feign ignorance. Gossip is a complete waste of time and is only for those who don't have anything better to do than to pry into other people's lives. I mean, true, you can't stop gossip completely, but you can be a start.

That is the key word...GOSSIP ! Don't become involved. It will end up hurting you in the long run. You could be repeating something that is not completely true. You have the right idea about the whole situation.

Gossip is not good. Ever. Just tell general information about that person. Gossiping can make you look bad too.
I know it's tempting to gossip but it's never good to do it.

Sounds like you know the right thing in your heart. Just keep your mouth shut and let them deal with it on their own. In the end those who know you've known what was going on all along will realize you kept your mouth shut. That means you're trust worthy and a good friend! People will see that if they don't already.
