Stay out of it and let it go unless you want to become involved in the gossip chain. Just let it go. She will find out sooner or later that she is being talked about

Defend the girl and let others know you don't appreciate their gossip.
You might ask them what they say about you when you are not there.
Anyway, try to stay out of the rumor mill and away from gossip. It hurts a lot of people.

don't tell your friend, but if there is something that people are making fun of, maybe bring up a suggestion diplomatically, just don't be critical about it. If it is just they are making catty remarks about her appearance, well, don't say anything.

the term you are looking for is commonly known as slagging someone off.
it would depend on what people are saying to be honest cos she may get really upset about it, but at the same time she has a right to be made aware of the situation so she can deal with it as she chooses.
if it were me i'd want to know but only cos i believe that if someone has something to say about me but doesn't have the guts to say it to my face then it cant be worth saying.
but this person may not be as strong as me or you

I would make a point to tell them that you are her friend and you like her. There is no need to tell her, it would just cause problems, but your coworkers will not talk about her around you anymore. Just casually say that you think she is a cool chick that way you have defended her if she finds out about what they were saying. Never partake in office drama, just be nice to everyone and don't talk about anyone. If you tell her you would be causing drama.

i would not tell her its better off they will move on to someone else eventaually its office gossip it happens everywhere.Specially if you know they are jealous then why bother her with petty things like that for anyway. like some others said on here defend her too that might help out tell them that she is nice and tell the people who are doing the gossiping that they are being like jr high kids and elementary children.
If you like her then befriend her and do not worry what others will think.

for one i would gave the peopl that were talking about her a piece of my mind(if she was my friend) But i wouldn't tell her cause it would only start a big mess and that's something you don't wanna be in the middle of. so just let it go

Its just gossip you might set them straight if you know what they are saying isn't true, but it won't stop them from gossiping. If you tell your friend it will just hurt her feelings.

You might defend her and let the others know you don't appreciate their malicious gossip of someone you like.

I'd want to know, but i wouldn't let it bother me at work, and usually if i have somethn to say to about someone it is to them, not others....unless that one fuucked up and stole or lied..then i'd vent of course....
