Alcohol reduces your inhibitions and you begin to talk and do things that you wouldn't ordinarily do. You are not so concerned about what other people will think and you feel you are a little more courageous and are ready to take a few risks. Unfortunately, this blessed state of euphoria is usually the precrusor to one drink away from stupid.

Alcohol can be your "liquid courage." After a long night of drinking, that is when you end up asking your girlfriend and her female best friend to spend the night with you. If they have had enough to drink as well, they will say yes. One of these times, my girlfriend and her female best friend will say yes again.

Alcohol is actually poison. As you build up the toxins in your system, it begins to shut down functions in your body. If you are blacking out, that is only one step from alcohol poisoning, which can lead to serious issues and even rarely death.
So the reason you do things is because your brain isn't functioning the way it should. But, don't blame the alcohol, you're the one in control of how much goes in.

I am exactly the same and regret that I cannot remember the night before. I think it is because of the brain.

Because the alcohol is that kind of drug that brings the things that you have in your subconscious mind...whenever you are really drunk you are not able to find the different between what you know is allow and what is not...

it goes to the pleasure centers of your brain and makes it produce lots of dopamine (which is what makes you feel good). while you are under the influence, your brain is in an altered state, and you can't always control exactly what you're doing. and the drunker you are, the less control you have.
