Okay, so I'm kinda like a rich gold digger...I've got money but I only like to date guys that have more money that me....like I can't stand a guy who makes less money that my dad (i'm still a teen) and it's sooo bad because I'm sooo shallow and no matter how hard I try, I can never get attracted to good-looking poor guys...I just can't date them because it's a huge turn off....any tips on how I could see beyond money and power? I hate being so shallow.

well its very good that u come out and notice ur problems but its about love not money. money may buy u happiness for that second but love will alawys be there for u. u need to have confidence in urself and find other ways to have fun than just spending money. pretty soon guys r just going to go out with u because they feel they can buy u everything in the world and use for for the things u want. and u dont want that.

Sorry, can't relate. I have always looked at the person first, so I am the total opposite. I'm married now (though not to someone poor!) but I must say that his socio-economic standing was not the first thing I looked at. When I was dating, the ones with the most money were not the ones I was most turned on to- I don't know why. I'm sure the ideal is somewhere in the middle. I guess I just really like the independent types who have dreams and ambitions but don't care about flaunting possessions. If you really don't want to be shallow anymore, then just look at the person first- their intellect, their heart, their actions, their deeds. If they have a little money too- great! But don't let it be the main criteria, and don't project yourself as a gold digger type. We all have more to offer than that.

You kind of answered your own question here. You are comparing guys to your father. As a teenager I doubt you are going to find many "boys" that make as much money as your father and even if they do I'd stay clear of them. I am guessing you want people to know the inner you and not judge you based on clothes or outer appearances. So why are you turning around and going against what you want? It will be hard but you are going to have to face this problem or be shunned from a lot of great guys who could be the "one" in your life. Perhaps this will help. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet were both "poor" going up and into their late twenties. Now they are the number one and number two richest people in the world. Money is something that can be easily fixed. Treating you like a lady, being kind, making you laugh, and loving are not qualities that can be taught. Plan to get "rich" with your chosen person later and have fun in life now. I am sure your dad will agree.

Its good that u realize u have a problem it took me along time to realize that i was the same way. I actually changed, but as soon as i did i got in a relationship with someone who would buy me any and everything i want. So if u find people who are willing to spend money on you, then spend it.

You're probably like that from birth...naturally...so you'll probably be like that all your life. My wife use to tell our daughter to date rich guys. My advice to her was to get her own money and date whoever she loved. Money shouldn't have anything to do with love.
Nothing wrong with you wanting and liking whatever kind of guys that please you. You're the one who as to put up with them. Just don't get a jerk who has money and will treat you like a wh0re, ya know? That does happen. Some of them tend to treat people like "things" that they can possess.

You took the first step . . . you realize that you're transparent and shallow. But one day, you'll meet that rich guy who wants a trophy babe on his arm. And when he finally gets tired of you, he'll haul your @$$ to the curb.
Have a nice life.
