Hi i m trying to burn a cd but software says its damaged, can anyone tell me how to burn damaged cd, it contains important information. I have heard that there are some softwares which can capture damaged cd to hard disc and then we can burn them. If anyone know it, please inform me............................

Yes first try to put it in a different cd/dvd drive, either one. IF that does not work then you can get a kit that you can get at any place that sells cd's it is supposed cover over the cracks and it does work pretty good. but because you don't rub to hard or much since you might scratch the sectors.

Take the damaged CD to your local video rental store and ask if they will clean / polish it for you. The DVD's they rent out come back scratched etc. and they have a machine that cleans and polishes the scratches out. Most of the time this will repair your CD.
They should do this free of charge as it only takes a minute and the machine does all the work. They should do this as a goodwill justure.

be careful...i tried importing a cd that was scratched into my computer and it literally blew up in the drive...i need to replace the drive now.

try removing the scratches with a soft cloth and a small amount of toothpaste
