Actually it is illegal in some countries. My question is (and please don't be offended by this...) but what is wrong with a 29 yr old Man that he can't find someone his own age. If I were you, I would stay away from him. Something isn't right there and believe me, you won't be doing yourself any favors. Besides, you are 17.. nearly the perfect age to start dating hot college guys! There are SOOOOO many of them.. take your pick and enjoy.

No! There is a huge difference between people of these two ages (besides the years). A 17 year old is still a child (I'm sorry, I do not mean to offend) while a 29 year old is fully adult and should not even WANT to date a 17 year old.
Most 17 year olds haven't had the experience of going off to college or the military, of living on their own, or of starting/managing a career while a 29 year old should be living an adult life, making their own way, including housing, job, healthcare, dining, everything.
If the couple had the same age gap, but 1 was 45 and the other was 57, the age difference wouldn't be a big deal, but the 20's are where you totally change from being a kid into being an adult.

No.
When you are seventeen you have no idea what the REAL world is like. Honestly. I had been through hell, and then some, by the time i was 18 and I thought that because of that, I knew what life really was. I was wrong. i dated a guy who was 30 when I was 18 and, though it was fun for while, we never really made the deep connection that we both wanted.
That kind of age gap isn't just about feelings and the heart.....so many things happen in the years between 20 & 30 that no matter how much you care about a person @ 17, you just can't relate to them on the level they are at @29......been there and done that.
The best thing you can do for that relationship is to remain close friends and allow yourself to catch up to the older person. When you are 25 and that person is 36 or 37 it won't be as significant a gap because you will have been out in the REAL world for some time already.
This is a hard thing to go thourgh, I know. But that's the best advice I can give from my own personal experience and thpse of my friends around me.

Most definitely NOT. Why the heck would a 29 year-old get involved with someone 12 years younger? I mean, there are hundreds of millions of people in the world, who are closer to his age (by this I mean maturity, life experience, hopes, aspirations, wants, needs, etc...)
It's like asking if it's OK for a 28 year-old to see a 16 yr-old... or a 24 yr old a 12 year old. That's just plain wrong!!

Well two things, is it legal, where ever u are, and depends on whos 29 and whos 17 (guy or the girl). Also, i dont think a 17 yr old guy OR girl would be mature enough for a 29 yr old.

I think you know the answer to that before you asked it. There is such a thing as mollestation. Use your head, girl. You are still in alot of ways a child. You have no business going with a grown man and what is his problem that he can only get dates with teens. The red flags should be flying right now. Stick to your own age group. By the way, does your Mother know you do this because if you were my child, I'd be talking to the Police at this moment.

I personally think there is too much of a maturity issue. I was very different at twenty nine than I was at seventeen. Those are major changing years. We see things so much different in life. There is also a sex issue. If one of your parents found out, he would go to jail and that wouldn't be good for anyone. Believe me a man at that age can manipulate someone at your age easily. Stick to guys around your age and learn about life together. Think about it a little more.

No it's not OK,but I feel like your doing it anyway, what can you possible have in common with this person? Normally people like that try and take advantage of people younger than they are, you should ask that person why isn't he or she dating anyone in there age group, and the answer is probably because people their age can smell the bull $hit that he or she is feeding you. So no I think you need to find someone on your level.

i think that might be a little bit extreme in the age gap....I mean, if there's a 17 year old, they're not completely mature, but a 29 year old, is almost 30....they've lived practically half their life! I'm not a big one for the large age gaps....myself....

no-no-no....any 29 year old who has to date a 17 yr. old is a loser and if you get involved physically, it's illegal and he knows that. stay away from the loser and date someone you can go to prom with not someone your dad would hang out with....think!!!!!
