I tried a mouse wall unit, but it didn't seem to work. I use a no-kill trap that I bought at a home center. It's a "small box" that I put cat food in.

They seem to, but it takes quite a few to do the inside of a house, due to the carpet, furniture, curtains, etc that absorb sound.
One of the worked very well in my garage (nothing soft there to disrupt the audio 'field')

yes and they usually have a mosquito setting too to get rid of them. You can't hear the rodent sound but you can hear the mosquito one slightly. They work very well with birds too.
