and ones religous persuasion is determined primarily by geography.

A muslim is likely to originate in the middle east a christian in the west. Spirituality does not encounter such problems it is only the further classification into distinct religious beliefs.

All of this appears as if there is little divine influence on a person's belief.

What are people's thoughts on this.

I think that it's okay to believe in one religion as long as you realize it's not the 'only way' or the 'right one'

I don't care what people believe in as long as they don't try to cram it down other peoples throats.

You seem to have distilled it down to the two main points. "Spirituality" being a more all encompassing, inclusive state of being, and "religion" which is inherently exclusive. Consequently, I think that those who are spiritual are far more open to new ideas, means, and tools for expressing their innate spiritual natures. Those who follow strict religious tenants, refuse or fear looking outside box and are therefore far more intolerant of others who do not share their belief system. So whether it is divine influence or simple geography, a truly spiritual person is in a far better position to greet humanity with open arms due to the fact that they are able to recognize the spiritual in the "other."

'my dad is better...' hehe, thats funny.
But I agree. I am a christian, however I will not ever say that anyone elses religion is wrong, or that they will go to hell for anything. Because I don't have that right to judge them. I actually have studied all of the religions, and still have the same beliefs. All I can do is tell about how God has done wonders in my life. I feel that all religions have truth, and all have errs. Most christians would not agree on me with this, and thats fine. I do not worship jesus, I worship God. Jesus was a man sent by Got to take our sins, and teach us how to love. Have a nice day.

I agree my mom is in one religion while my dad is in another, but they support each other, go to each religions things, believe in each other, read each other scriptures, and we(the children) are raised in both religions, & much more. We(the people) should beable to be like that even if we have different religions we should support other religions ect.

that's true. if i were to donate myself to one religion, it would be to one where a good, reasonable questioning is encouraged, not a reason for excommunication and eternal firey tourment.
