Is it common to occasionally find strands of red in hair that's otherwise dark brown?

Yes it is normal, usually exposure to sunlight will lighten dark hair and turn it redder.

It's normal. On the flip side, my husband has red hair with strands of jet black every so often. Everybody is different . . . Thank Goodness!

Quite normal.

My hair is jet black, and I have a single orange hair growing on my head. Now, that's what I'd call strange.
