Keeping it from your bf would have made even your innocent action seem guilty. You did the right thing.

The same thing happened to my husband. A girl he dated emailed him out of the blue. He also forwarded me the email with his reply (which basically said "I'm married- not interested").
It wasn't that big of a deal, but I was glad he told me. There's something about being united. If we'd run into her - by some weird chance- and she said something about him emailing her, it would be a "secret" they had.
I think it's good you mentioned it.

Since you are honest with him you told him. He asked to see the email and you showed him. If you said nothing and he found out, he might be suspicious of why you didn't mention something as trivial as that. Best you told him and things are fine.

That was a great thing to do. Had he found the email he would have thought you were trying to hide something. Relationships should be an open book.
Good job!

well if he wanted you to forward it to him then he can't trust you and seems abit possessive. the email obviously was just a friendly one and even though u dated.. you broke up obviously so it wasnt working and he shouldnt be worried about a nice email.. and you should be keeping in touch i mean ex's can be friends aswel!

It's a tough call, because most people wouldn't be mature enough to realize what is past is past. Honesty never fails, though. If your boyfriend hadn't accepted your honesty, then he wouldn't deserve to be your boyfriend

What you did was right, b/c you want him to trust you, and for some people it takes a longer time for trust to built..(Which is something I'm learning as well)....it varies depending on the person as far as trust being built....

Sounds like he's a control freak and very insecure. Do you have to fwd all your e-mail correspondence to him? Dump his sorry *** before he takes over your life.
Good luck.

it's good to be honest with your partner. That's the foundation of any truly solid relationship.
