I got work permit from the Irish authorities for one year.
I'm a non-EU citizen and and I would like to save on travling costs; my question is would it be ok for me to buy a one-way ticket to Ireland knowing that I got a valid work permit, or should I buy an open return ticket for one year as the Irish authoities won't allow me to enter Ireland with a one-way ticket.

as long as you can document your job and yor work permit, you should be fine...

but I'd double-check with your local Irish embassy/consolate to make sure.
