I think that everyone should have to pay income taxes, including (and especially) churches.

I don't know anyone who enjoys paying income taxes but most people think it's the law. This eye-opening film exposes the fact that there is no law saying the average American citizen has to pay income taxes. Aaron Russo is an award winning filmmaker who produced "The Rose" and "Trading Places." Recently, he decided to discover the truth behind this "no law" rumor concerning the ratification of the 16th Amendment also known as the "Tax Amendment."

We all have to pay our income taxes. If you read the passage of the Pharisees who asked Jesus this same question. He took a currency that they used at that time which had to face of Cesar on it and said give to Cesar what is Cesar's but to God what belongs to God.

Also in Romans 13:6,7 "For that is why YOU are also paying taxes; for they are God’s public servants constantly serving this very purpose."

Salient2: bad question.

Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. all pay taxes. However, church income is not taxed, regardless of denomination.

However, I believe in a flat tax, for any income, for people only. Not corporations, not meat, not tobacco, not church, not whatever. That will engage people.

When emperor Justinian took a Jewish Messianic cult, and turned it into the religion of the empire, by imperial decree and threat of death, he made darn sure that the Bible contained passages declaring "be obedient to your rulers" "Do what the government tells you to do" "be good little sheep and workers".

Shesh...Do some of this folk realize, that by the biblical passages, the American Revolution was completely against God's word, and that we live in a country that was created by
sin? The Founding Fathers, rose up in rebellion against their ruler, "ordained by God to govern them?"

Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!

The Bible can prove anything, depending on the cleverness of the person doing the interpreting.

I never liked Kent Hovind there always seemed something phony about him.

I wish I did not have to pay income taxes by the way, more money in my pocket.

From the article:
"But he believes he and his employees work for God, are paid by God and, therefore, aren’t subject to taxation."

Yeah, I doubt God is up there writing checks and giving them money. That money came from people and they should be paying taxes like everybody else. They gave it a nice try though.

earnings tax evasion is a offender offense. i do no longer care once you're Kent Hovind or Al Capone, you bypass to detention center. Jesus reported to render unto Caeser what became Caesar's and he paid taxes. i'm no greater desirable than Jesus in that regard.
