Adobe is by far the best.

Depends what you want to do with it .... Photoshop is an industrial strength professional software, it's capable of doing almost everythings but the learning curve is extremely steep. If all you need is some basic stuff like correcting the brightness, color, resizing, orientation etc then a lighter Paint Shop Pro or Elements should do just fine and much much cheaper. Photoshop costs around $650 a copy. The Adobe Element 5 is around $90 which is on par with Paint Shop Pro.

Good luck.

I use them both frequently.
I use Corel Paint Shop Pro often because it meshes with CorelDraw 12 much better in many scenarios. I do think there are alot of limitations with this software, however.

I much prefer Adobe Photoshop (Strangely enough, I think I use it less). I think it's much more powerful and does things much more efficiently than PSP does.

I prefer Paint Shop Pro. Been using it for almost 10 years now. I've got versions 7, 8 and 9 on my computer at home and 9 at work.
The learning curve is not too bad and the program is well supported by both commercial sites and fans. Go to any search engine and look for PSP tutorials and you will find an endless supply of lessons and projects to practice with.
Look for PSP tubes and you can find just about any image you want and more ready to use in PSP>

If you want to learn PSP there are several free classes out there as well.

Hope this helps.
