As the Koran clearly states, violence should fall upon those who do not subscribe to Islam. Here are some quotes:

"fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness" (Surah 9:123)
"I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" (Surah 8:12)
"Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him."(Sahih Al-Bukhari 9:57)
"Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush." (Koran 9:5)
"They (the unbelievers) should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides." (Koran 5:33)

Given the above words from your Holy book, and given that followers of Islam believe it to be the word of God (Allah), why am I, an unbeliever, allowed to go on living? And, if you do not follow the Koran and its above teachings, are you then a bad Muslim?

1)this ayat is from surah tuba verse#9...oh people, fight with those unblievers who r near to u,and let them find in u hardness and remember allah is with those who r fair"u didnt write the whole verse it is said the word fair...it means like we can fight to those who try to be unfair with us.
2)this ayat is taken from surah anfaal...surah anfaal was presented to our holy prophet at the time of "battle of badr"it was the first battle between muslims and non-muslims in which there abt 1000 non-muslims and muslims only 313 so holy prophet pray to allah to help muslims...and then this ayat was presented which is"and at tht time when your god was signaling the angels"im with u keep the believers on the right track,i will cast terror in their hearts, therefore strike off their heads and strik off every fingertip of them.
3)yes we r not allowed to change our religion...and who changes its religion is actually denying the truth!!
4)again from surah tuaba"and when the illegal months r over then kill the unbelievers and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush and if they ask forgiveness and pray and give zakat leave them and allah forgives and he is very kind"there was a promise between non-muslims and muslims tht was called "sulah-hudaybya promises"but non-muslims break these promises so it was ordere to muslims to kill them...also these lines from surah tuaba were for those non-mulims of tht time not for all non-muslims....
4)i can read enugh so this line should be read as a whole o.k...
i hope tht will be the answer to your questions...

I think that if Muslims want to live their faith fully, they should live in the Middle East countries. Those are rules by their religion. AMerica is the melting pot of the world. People from every country and from every creed come here for our freedoms. When a foreigner comes here and legally becomes a citizen, they should speak our language, work our jobs legally, follow our laws always, etc. America has many rights and freedoms. One of them, a huge one, is freedom of speech. And religion. Americans have the full right to talk about anything and anyone in any way. Now, some times we are accused of sexism, racism, bigotry. When a political talks that way, all hell breaks loose. When a comedian talks that way, we laugh and nod our heads. Where do you cross the line? What I don't understand is that nonMuslims can't draw a pic of Muhammad even if done with respect. But Muslims, who believe Jesus will return, don't mind all the pictures we make about Jesus. Do you Muslims not respect the returning Savior as much as you respect the sinful Muhammad? You make death threats for Muhammad drawings but when we draw a picture of any other prophet you don't talk about it all. What's up with that?? If you are a legal American, be an American. Practice your religion without our governmental laws. America isn't ruled by any religion. It's ruled by men and women, who are all sinners.

First of all of the surahs mentioned are talking about wars, such as the battle of Badr. Do you think that the people the Muslims waged war against were just sitting there peacefully? They betrayed the alliance they had with the Muslims. That is why Allah commanded his prophet to wage war with the traitors.

All of the verses you have copied in your question are pretty much the same thing. They do not apply to daily life of a Muslim and what they should do leading normal everyday lives.

I don't want to make my answer too long, but some research in to the origins of the surahs/verses will show you the timezone in which they took place.

There are a lot of common misconceptions of Islam and only the most ignorant believe them. I am not trying to offend you, but this is a very delicate subject, and I do not like the actions of both Muslims and Christians in this world as both have strayed away from their teachings. I am a Muslim myself, and I can whole heartedly tell you that I do not like the actions of these damn terrorists, but America (Not Christianity) are also terrorists in my mind.

What we need to do is eradicate all the terrorists that plague this world together instead of fighting each other.

I've added a link to a website you will find VERY useful to further answer your question.

That's a really good question.I'm a muslim and i cant be much help. But i know that the one thing i hear from my family is that u should never chnage ur religion and follow the non-muslim fate.im not sure if it makes u a bad muslim.i dont kno how u found those but i kno that in the Qu'ran it says that u should not kill anyone unless in self defense of urself or ur religion.(like back then with the all the wars between the muslims and christians.).i dont think its a literal thing but maybe its trying to show that if u go against ur islam fate, then u should be punished in hell.

Mark thats the true meaning?so there arent any lies on that website?

yes, those things have been said in the Qoran but it is not fair to refer to a scentence without refering to its context.

take the worst one for example :(8:12) where it says you should chop off their heads and their fingers or whatever... That is actually referring to a war called badr . The scentence actually starts like this..."when your lord revealed to the angles..." this means that god was talking to the angles and he actually told the ANGLES to do so. Because it is said that during the war god sent his angles to aid the muslims in defeating the enemy as there were only 314 muslims fighting against 950 soldiers on the enemy side. So why don't you read the hole story first before trying to pick out the bad guys.

By the way if you have read the Qoran you should also remember this when it says : "There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error"(2:256) or how about this one

"Say: O unbelievers!I do not serve that which you serve,Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve...You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion." (109:1-6) This is when god tells Muhammad to let them believe in whatever they want and if they do not want to be a beliver so let them be!"

Now THAT is why you're still alive! ;)

fellow all the verses you quoted were revealed in state of war...most of them were during war-e-badr.and in war i guess if some one is attacking u n u r defending urself, these are totally valid,n right, don't u think??what verses u expect during war,oh don't fight back, let them destroy u n ur religion...Islam only n only supports Jihad in self-defence as u forgot to quote ...i should remind,it's in sura anfaal: if the non-muslims do good with u,n don't break into ur houses,n don't help others against u,then be good to them,Allah loves those who do so...He will ask u about the rights of humanity on day of judgement.

fellow! whenever u r trying to understand Quranic verse, always keep background knowledge in mind..so when u will come up attacking me,than i will respond back...until then i respect u,as we all are human being,n equal infront of God's eye.
may God guide u right path(ameen)

This was when Mohammed (pbuh) was first told to spread the word that there is a God who should be worshiped not idols. God ordered Abraham built the Kaba for Muslims (later on) to visit once a year (once in a life time if they are able to) but infidels filled it with statues over the centuries after Abraham's time. Those who refused to believe there is one God wanted to kill Mohammed, declared war, gathered armies...do you expect him just to keep running away all his life? how can he spread the word if he cannot ensure security for Muslims. Infidels were torturing Muslims to denounce God. Therefore, God ordered Mohammed to fight back. Those who wanted to remain heathens, could have left the land. You are in a far away land, do you think we will come after you to kill you? Are you asking a question or mocking our Holy Book? Don't worry, no one is coming after you. If any of the fanatics does, it his own devilsh ideas, nothing to do with Islam.

This is similar to Christianity then isn't it?

Aren't Christians supposed to smite those that go against the word of God?

As an unbeliever, all shall have their day in the end, right? That's what revelations, in the bible is all about. What's your hurry?
