Aww! It sounds adorable!

Most kittens look pretty much like balls of fluff. But you seem to have a domestic-shorthair-Persian mix of some sort.

It's a Domestic Longhair, with grey and white fur. If it's pretty young, the hair may actually not turn out to be long. Lots of kittens are really fluffy and turn out to have short hair. There's really no way to tell what breed it is, so the standard name for a mix breed cat in the US is Domestic Shorthair, or Domestic Longhair, some people also use Domestic Mediumhair for those coats that don't really seem to be either. Also note that while some places will use American Shorthair as a generic breed name, the American Shorthair is an actual breed of cat so this is incorrect for describing cats with unknown lineage. Enjoy your new kitten!

it is a really shaggy kitten with light gray fur and white on the face and paws. Sounds like you have a regular domestic house cat.

If it has a big bush tail, it could be part Maine coon.
