I don't believe in it, both my wife and I are total equals, and I even think sometimes that she does more than I do. No man should ever be the head of his wife, but a partner.

I agree with the statement. However, I do feel that most times men over look the first part to this verse, which is that Christ is the head of man. So for me, if a man is not submissive to Christ as he should be then he is out of order himself and is not fit to be followed or heeded to.

I've always wondered, too. It's a good question and I'd like to hear what people think about it. I always kinda imagine the woman and man to be on the same level and looking at the big picture the head of everybody would be Christ and then God.

Even Jesus has someone over him. He doesn't find it demeaning to submit to God, even into the eternal future ( 1 Coriunthians 15:24-28). So if we respect the headship principle, if the ones we have as head do the same and look to God for how to exercise headship we'll be in good shape.

A man is responsible for his home. He has to take care of it, and he gets his inspiration and advice from God. Not to say that woman can't run a household, but traditionally a man is the breadwinner, and he must take care of everyone. The book of Romans says that we are all equal, no matter what sex or race, so Paul is not being sexist. He's just going with the natural order. A real man is a man who can take care of his family as best he can with the help of God.

And the head of the woman is the man, The man is first in order in being, was first formed, and the woman out of him, who was made for him, and not he for the woman, and therefore must be head. the man is the head of the woman to provide and care for her, to nourish and cherish her, and to protect and defend her against all insults and injuries.
Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

The man head over a woman as far as spiritual teaching.If a man is not educated in spiritual matters he is not fit to be head over the woman.Because if he is not in Jesus he does not have Jesus to be head over him in order to be head over the woman.Take Care and May God Bless You.

It reminds me that many biblical texts were written in a time where women were considered inferior, only there to serve men, property. How about when "god" gave Abraham, whose own wife couldn't have children, her handmaiden Hagar? Women were property, not people.
We've learned a lot since then, and now understand that we have no right to treat women as property -- another case in which our modern knowledge shows that the ancient, ignorant bible book writers were wrong...along with "creation," the flood, the tower of Babel, and tons of other examples.

I think men that have to hold the Word over a womans head, to get her respect. Give the rest of us MEN a bad name.
I call them Women-buttkissers!
Because after they piss thier woman off. They turn into the wimps they really are. And think the only way to get along with a woman is to kiss her butt!
There are two kinds of DOGGS. The kind that "jumps on your
neck"! And the kind that "grovels at your feet". And a woman
cannot respect either one!

That verse is pretty self explanitory. In christianity, when you are married, your husband answers to God for your marriage. He is the spiritual leader of your household. The wife is under the husbands protection. It is a very beautiful picture of just how much Christ loved the church and died for it.
